Amongst all this Vista SP talk here and here Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) has been quietly sent out to a relatively small group of testers by Microsoft. According to the NFO file from WinBeta, this XP service pack 3 is considered a pre-beta release and this pre release version for the hard core is 5.1.2600.3180 (xpsp.070718-2058) build.
Meanwhile, The file size of XP SP3 will be less than 350MB and this Windows Services Pack 3 will fix over 900 reported problems. Some of the windows problems perhaps have already been resolved through Windows Update. But I bet they get some of those bugs that make you want to strangle someone.
However, Microsoft Service Pack roadmap that i see say that Windows XP Service Pack 3 will be available Q1 Year 2008. if you are thinking of downloading Windows Services XP Pack 3, check around the torrent network and you might get your pre-beta release of windows xp service pack 3 as well.
