So I've had an 8125 for the last year or so. It's been replaced 3 times. In all cases it was replaced for different issues, but all the iterations of phone I've received, from new to refurbished, have the same common problem.
The phone tends to drop it's signal, momentarily, after about 4-5 minutes of talking. In fact, the phone periodically drops it's signal all day.
Since I've managed to have the phone switched so many times, I can safely conclude it's a problem that spans the 8125 (Cingular/Att) line. So after getting off the phone with business services, i was left with no help from them. I spent $300 on the phone when it came out and now it's not providing me a reliable connection that i can count on. So are phones truly disposable today? How long can I expect to have a phone, reliably, after spending serious money on it? One would think that a $300 phone wouldn't have these issues, but since it does, shouldn't Att at least play ball a little bit in helping buy a new phone. The best deal I can get right now is on a refurbished 8525 for $200. So is this what it comes down to with Cingular/Att?
I'm forced to spend ANOTHER serious amount of money a little over a year after purchasing a phone, AND a 2-year contract. Honestly, any good business-minded person would know in cases such as this you should extend a hand to help a person get him/herself into a new phone
after they bought into a phone that, while it truly is a great phone, has an inherent flaw which is preventing me from having a lengthy conversation. If Att would look at my call logs, they will see a bunch of calls that dropped after 4-5 minutes, and warranted an immediate redial in order to finish the conversation.
The inherent issue here is that I'm actually happy with the phone, and if not for this connection issue, I would be fine with holding onto this phone for another year, but since i can't rely on it, I'm forced to buy another one. And what if I couldn't afford another phone, well then I'd probably get hit with an early termination fee, then wouldn't I?
Not cool ATT, NOT COOL!

8125 connection dropping problems are Model-specific. AT&T says "got a broken phone? You're on your own". In fact, I feel like Att is screwing me!
