Question: Can we use shared appointments across platform and cross different mail servers?

Today's question comes from Jon in New Jersey He writes to us:

Hello I have a question, Using exchange 2003 I want to setup a calendar
appointment with many people however not all of them are in my organization some
are at a consulting company and others are at a ad-agency what is the best way
to setup a appointment with people from all over? Thanks
-Jon

I sent Jon some follow up questions regarding platform and what type of response he needs. Is the appointment just to be put in their calendar or is feedback necessary? There are several ways to do this. The least technical way of course would be to use a service like eVite.

Post your answers or check back for the full answer!

Update: They are all on outlook 2003, all PC's. At least an appointment that will get added into their calendar, ideally however would be the ability to look at their schedule like we are able to within our own exchange environment. Thanks
-Jon

Great Jon Thanks for the update! If everyone is using Outlook 2003 we can use simply add the users you want to your address book and then add them as Attendees and it will shoot them a email with a calendar event attached! We just tried it over here across two domains and even to a mac!

Let us know what you are running into difficulty with!
