I checked the permissions...Wait...I figured it out. I checked the permissions on that hidden system folder. By default only the system account has access to that folder. I found this article <A HREF="http://searchwincomputing.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid68_gci1167895,00.html" REL="nofollow">here</A> explaining how to do a system restore from the recovery console. When I tried doing step number 3 (change directory in system~1) I got an access denied message, even though i was logged in as administrator.
